BSNL broadband plans now offer higher internet speeds
Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) plans worth Rs 249, Rs 299, and Rs 329 now come with a maximum speed of 25Mbps without a change in their prices.
Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has reportedly upgraded its entry-level broadband plans to offer higher internet speeds. The plans worth Rs 249, Rs 299, and Rs 329 now come with a maximum speed of 25Mbps without a change in their prices. The data limit under each plan is also the same as before, so customers do not get extra data benefits. The changes came into effect sometime back but are still rolling out to users in the remaining circles.
The state-run telecom operator has quietly upgraded internet speeds on its entry-level plans, spotted by TelecomTalk. The Rs 249 plan previously offered 10Mbps speed, but customers now get 2.5 times more speed for the same price. Similarly, BSNL’s Rs 299 plan had a maximum internet speed of 10Mbps, but its subscribers will now get 25Mbps with the same data limit. The highest tier worth Rs 329 also offers 25Mbps, up from the previous internet speed of 20Mbps.
BSNL Rs 249 plan
Customers get 10GB of FUP (Fair Usage Policy) data under this plan for a month’s validity. After the high-speed data limit is exhausted, the internet speed will be reduced to 2Mbps.
BSNL Rs 299 plan
The Rs 299 plan comes with 20GB of FUP data, valid for a month. This plan also sees a reduction in the internet speed to 2Mbps after the exhaustion of 20GB.
BSNL Rs 329 plan
This plan has the highest data limit, offering 1000GB for a month. After the FUP limit is over, the internet speed will be reduced from 25Mbps to 4Mbps.
BSNL’s 5G plans
In other news, BSNL may be planning to kick off 5G rollout by Makar Sankranti in 2025. A top BSNL executive from the Andhra Pradesh circle told The Hindu that the state-owned government company is working on upgrading network sites in priority circles – particularly the ones where BSNL has begun offering its 4G services.
