Over the years, WhatsApp has incorporated various features from Instagram. For instance, the WhatsApp Status feature draws inspiration from Instagram Stories, and the Channels feature bears a resemblance to Instagram Channels. Meta, the parent company of both platforms, aims to standardise features across its app suite. However, WhatsApp lacks a feature similar to Instagram's Reels, and Meta has not announced any plans to introduce such functionality. Nevertheless, users can still enjoy quick and engaging videos by accessing Instagram directly.

Instagram Reels on WhatsApp

Step 1: Ensure the WhatsApp app version on the Android phone or iPhone is up to date.

Step 2: Look for the Meta AI icon on the home screen of WhatsApp. It is denoted by an animated blue-pink circle on top of the chats. Tap it.

Step 3: The Meta AI chatbot will open on the screen with a text box at the bottom – much like what a regular chat screen looks like.

Step 4: Enter a text prompt like “Show me Instagram reels” and send it to the chatbot.

Step 5: WhatsApp will immediately show a few Reels in the chat that users can tap to watch within the app.

In case a user wants to see Reels from a particular Instagram page or creator, they can add the name in the text prompt to see their latest and popular Reels. It is worth noting that WhatsApp will show a handful of Reels without endless scrolling like Instagram. This feature will work only if the user has enabled Meta AI on your WhatsApp. Another thing to remember is that Meta AI will not work unless the user has accepted the terms and conditions to chat with businesses and bots on WhatsApp.
