Apple is poised to unveil a range of new Mac devices this week. Greg Joswiak, senior vice president at Apple, stated that the company has “an exciting week of announcements ahead, starting on Monday morning.” In Indian time, this translates to Monday night, when the first product from the upcoming Mac lineup is expected to launch. There are strong rumours that the lineup will feature a MacBook Pro, a Mac mini, and an iMac – all utilising the latest M4 chip and potentially its more advanced variants.

M4 MacBook Pro

Apple's biggest upgrade this week could be the refreshed MacBook Pro, which will see chip bumps to M4. This year, the MacBook Pro series may have a 14-inch option that let go of the Touch Bar last year. While Apple is unlikely to announce a new design or other cosmetic changes, the entry-level MacBook Pro may get a space black colourway with a third Thunderbolt port. Specifications-wise, it may now have 16GB of unified memory compared to 8GB on previous counterparts. Both MacBook Pro screen options will likely use the M4 chip, with options for top models that may be powered by M4 Max or M4 Ultra variants.

New Mac mini

The Mac mini is expected to receive its biggest redesign in years this week. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has mentioned that Apple’s smallest desktop computer may be as small as the Apple TV. That could be possible through the omission of the USB-A ports in favour of more USB-C and Thunderbolt ports. Of course, it will be bumped up to M4 and its variants, marking a significant jump from the existing Mac Mini with M2 and M2 Pro.

M4 iMac

The 24-inch iMac could be due for an update once again. Ever since Apple revamped its desktop computers in 2021, it has regularly updated them. The new iMac could ditch the M3 chip for a fresh M4. While design changes are unlikely – except for new funky colourways, Apple is also expected to refresh the Magic Mouse, Magic Trackpad, and Magic Keyboard to introduce a USB-C port on them. The current models use the dated Lightning connector, so it is about time they catch up with the rest of the Apple devices.
