OpenAI launches o1, its first AI model with 'reasoning' abilities

Highlighting the capabilities of the new AI model, OpenAI said the o1 model scored 83 per cent on the qualifying exam for the International Mathematics Olympiad, compared with 13% for its previous model, GPT-4o.
