Musk suggests cutting down ‘gigantic bureaucracy’ if offered a role in Trump administration

Elon Musk on US elections 2024:  Elon Musk indicated he would aim to reduce federal agencies if Donald Trump is re-elected and offers him a role in his administration. 

Speaking on Tucker Carlson’s online programme from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate, Musk said he wanted to help Trump improve government efficiency. Musk, a prominent supporter of Trump, serves as CEO of Tesla and SpaceX and owns the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.

“We’ve got a gigantic bureaucracy, we’ve got overregulation,” Musk told Carlson. “We need to let the builders of America build.”

Meanwhile, Musk is also facing a proposed class-action lawsuit over his recent $1 million-a-day giveaway. Filed by Arizona resident Jacqueline McAferty in federal court in Austin, Texas, the lawsuit accuses Musk and his America PAC of misleading participants in a petition supporting the US Constitution, where Musk allegedly promised random winners. 

McAferty claims the selection was pre-determined, allowing Musk to benefit financially by boosting attention to his platform, X, and gathering personal data—names, addresses, and phone numbers—that could potentially be sold.
