Maharashtra Assembly Elections Result 2024 Date And Time: When Will Poll Outcome Be Declared

The high-octane Maharashtra election was announced by the Election Commission of India on October 15, 2024. With six parties and two political alliances, the election results are being closely watched even by the decision-makers in New Delhi's power corridors.

The state has seen three chief ministers and three governments in the past five years and has two major alliances. On one side is the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP), along with CM Eknath Shinde Led Shiv Sena faction, and deputy CM Ajit Pawar's faction of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). Standing against them is the INDIA bloc - Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) consisting of the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) faction, NCP (Sharad Pawar) faction led by veteran leader Sharad Pawar and the Congress.

As many as 47,392 centenarians – people aged above 100 years old – are among the more than 9.7 crore voters in Maharashtra who are eligible to exercise their franchise in the November 20 assembly polls, according to the Election Commission data.

As per the data shared by the state Chief Electoral Officer, there are 22,22,704 voters in the age group of 18-19 years, while the number of centenarians, those aged 100 and above (oldest at 109), stood at 47,392.

The state has 9,70,25,119 registered voters -- 5,00,22,739 men, 4,69,96,279 women and 6,101 of the third gender.
