The state saw closely contested seats, with Chief Ministers as well as their relatives. Among the list of contenders were Chief Minister Hemant Soren, contesting from the JMM with his wife Kalpana Soren, and brother, Basant Soren.CM Hemant Soren's sister-in-law, Sita Soren, stood as BJP's candidate.There were several other figures like Purnima Das Sahu, who is the daughter-in-law of former Chief Minister and current Odisha Governor Raghuvar Das, among others.What Did The Exit Polls Predict?In the 81-seater Jharkhand Assembly, the party/ alliance, which secures 41 seats or more can form the government.In Jharkhand, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by the BJP is projected to return to power.
