Passengers travelling from Istanbul to New Delhi and Mumbai on IndiGo flight 6E0018 were stranded at Istanbul Airport for over 24 hours, prompting outrage on social media.

The delays, reportedly caused by various logistical issues, saw flights initially scheduled for December 12 delayed for over a day, leaving travellers in freezing conditions without proper food or accommodation.

Complaints About Rude Behavior and Lack of Assistance
The passengers, who numbered approximately 400, expressed their frustration with both the airline and Turkish Airlines staff. Many shared posts on social media, accusing Turkish Airlines staff of being rude and unhelpful during the prolonged wait. One social media user posted a video showing staff misbehaving with passengers, further escalating the tension.

“Turkish Airlines staff misbehaving with all passengers. No one from Indigo here yet. Shameful. Stuck at the airport for more than 26hrs, waiting for Istanbul to Delhi flight," one traveler wrote.

The Airline's Response
While the passengers aired their grievances, IndiGo did respond on social media. In reply to a post where a user is requesting a refund, there the answers.

His post reads, “flight 6E18 from IST to BOM is delayed by 14 + hours - would like to request a refund. Thanks!”

The airline asked the passenger to share their PNR (Passenger Name Record) and contact details via direct message for further investigation.

"Hi, we are concerned to know what went wrong. We request you to kindly share your PNR and contact details via DM, so we may get this checked," IndiGo replied, seeking to address the issue and investigate the delays.
