Delhi Pollution: WFH For Govt Employees - Check Office Timings, Other Details

As Delhi pollution levels hit alarmingly high levels on Wednesday, the Delhi Govt announced Work from Home (WFH) for 50 % of its employees. The government announced special timings for Delhi government officials in light of the rising levels of AQI in the national capital.

Environment Minister Gopal Rai took to X saying, “To reduce pollution, Delhi government has decided to give work from home in government offices. 50% employees will work from home. For its implementation, a meeting will be held with the officials at 1 pm today in the Secretariat.”

The schedules of Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) offices were regulated from 8.30 am to 5 pm, whereas that of Delhi government offices were 10 am to 6.30 pm.

The capital again witnessed the thick layer of smog this morning addressing severe level of pollution and health issues. People are struggling to manage day today activities with AQI rising above hazardous levels.

Delhi Pollution: What are the pollution levels in the national capital today?
The most polluted areas of Delhi were Mundka (464), Wazirpur, and Alipur (462), with an average AQI of 423 at 7 am. Only 800 meters could be seen at the Indira Gandhi International Airport due to the heavy pollution.

Delhi pollution: What IMD says

The AQI is now in 'severe' category after staying in 'severe plus' category for last few days. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the city's pollution problem would worsen as haze or shallow fog conditions would last all day. Schools went online earlier in the week as the city's AQI continued to decline. The Capital is already under GRAP-IV (Graded Response Action Plan) Stage IV restrictions to curb the pollution levels.
