Cyclone Fengal: Red Alert
The IMD has issued a red alert for districts like Chennai, Tiruvallur, and Puducherry, predicting very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall on Saturday. Neighboring areas such as Ranipet and Nagapattinam are also likely to experience heavy rain.

Severe weather on Friday canceled 13 flights in and out of Chennai. Public transport along the East Coast Road (ECR) and Old Mahabalipuram Road (OMR) will be temporarily halted on Saturday afternoon as the cyclone makes landfall.

Moderate rainfall is expected to spread across Tamil Nadu on December 1, with isolated heavy rainfall continuing until December 3. Meanwhile, President Droupadi Murmu’s scheduled visit to Tiruvarur Central University has been cancelled due to the weather conditions.
