On Friday, the Reserve Bank of India has received a bomb threat.
A threatening email, written in Russian, was sent to the Reserve Bank of India's official website, warning of a bomb threat. The matter has been reported to the Mata Ramabai Marg Police Station, and investigations are currently ongoing, according to the Mumbai Police.
Second Bomb Threat
In a concerning recurrence, a bomb threat was reported on November 16 to the RBI 's customer care number. The caller, identifying as the "CEO of Lashkar-e-Taiba," issued the threat after reportedly singing a song over the phone.
The Lashkar-e-Taiba, a Pakistan-based terror group, is infamously known for orchestrating the 2008 Mumbai attacks, one of the deadliest terror incidents in India's history.
"A threatening email was received on the official website of Reserve Bank of India. The email was in Russian language, warned to blow up the bank. A case has been registered against unknown accused in Mata Ramabai Marg (MRA Marg) police station. Investigation into the matter is underway," said Zone 1 DCP, Mumbai Police as mentioned in the report by ANI.
