Amit Banerji, founder, chairman, and CEO of managed workspace provider Table Space, passed away from a heart attack on Monday morning.
His death was confirmed by the company in an official statement expressing profound sadness and highlighting his lasting impact on the company and the industry.
"It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Amit Banerji, our Founder, Chairman, and CEO. His impact on the company, its people and the industry will be lasting, and he will be profoundly missed by his family, friends and partners," the company stated.

Banerji, 45, was a seasoned professional with extensive experience in technology and real estate. Before founding Table Space in 2017, he spent over 13 years at Accenture, rising to managing director of corporate real estate in India. Together with Karan Chopra, he co-founded Table Space to offer innovative workspace solutions.

Under Banerji’s leadership, Table Space experienced rapid growth. He was instrumental in business planning, negotiations, and asset management. The company, which aims for a $2.5 billion valuation in its upcoming IPO , raised approximately $330 million in funding, including significant backing from Hillhouse Capital. As of FY24, Table Space reported a 35 per cent increase in revenue, with rising occupancy rates and leasable areas.

Banerji’s passing is a significant loss to the entrepreneurial world, joining a tragic trend of premature deaths among industry leaders. This includes Rohan Malhotra of Good Capital, Ambareesh Murty of Pepperfry, and Rohan Mirchandani of Epigamia, who also passed away from heart-related issues.
His last post is a hurtful reminder of the sudden and tragic death of an entrepreneur who was excited about his new paths to unfold starting from the new year itself. The post read like this:
