For long enough there have been rumours that AI or artificial intelligence is going to replace several jobs.

Mark Zuckerberg, Meta chief, has predicted that a certain kind of jobs will be replaced by artificial intelligence.

Who Are The Ones That Will Be Affected?

AI can do what a junior engineer can achieve through a code, according to Zuckerberg.

Zuckerberg said that Meta, as well as other companies working in the domain, will have an AI that can effectively be a mid-level engineer of your company that can write code.

He added that initially, it could be more expensive to be more efficient, but it will reach a point where 'a lot of code in our apps, and a lot of AI we generate' will be built by AI engineers instead of people engineers.

The majority of code in Meta that is used to create the AI is written by AI which essentially means that humans are no longer needed to write that code.

Additionally, another example of this is seen in the fact that when Marc Benioff was asked if his company will have fewer or more employees, he responded saying that his company will be larger but he added, "We're not adding any more software engineers next year because we have increased the productivity this year with Agentforce and with other AI technology that we're using for engineering teams by more than 30% - to the point where our engineering velocity is incredible. I can't believe what we are achieving in engineering."

The firm also confirmed that they will have less support engineers because they have an agentic layer.
