SBI customers warned: The Press Information Bureau (PIB) has issued a critical alert for State Bank of India (SBI) customers about a fraudulent message circulating on social media. The scam message claims to be from SBI, asking recipients to download an APK file to claim reward points.

This message is a scam—SBI does not send links or APK files via SMS or WhatsApp. To avoid potential fraud, do not download unknown files or click on suspicious links. Always verify such messages through SBI’s official channels.

If you receive a suspicious message or one requesting personal information, contact SBI using verified contact methods to confirm its legitimacy. Being cautious and vigilant is crucial to protect your personal and financial information.

The PIB’s Fact Check Unit posted a warning: “Attention ‼️ Have you received a message urging you to download an APK file for SBI rewards? @TheOfficialSBI NEVER sends links or APK files over SMS/WhatsApp. Avoid downloading unknown files or clicking on dubious links.”
