Steps to resolve refund failures
The department stressed that after validating or re-validating bank accounts, taxpayers need to submit a “Refund Reissue Request” on the income tax e-filing portal. Failure to complete this step may result in continued delays in receiving the refund.
Importance of valid bank accounts
Refund processing requires the linked bank account to be active and validated on the income tax portal. Taxpayers are advised to log in to their accounts on the e-filing website, navigate to the refund section, and follow the instructions for account validation or re-validation.
