8th Pay Commission approved by the Union Cabinet. The implementation of the 8th Pay commission is expected to take place in 2026.
8th Pay Commission implementation probable date: The Union Cabinet headed by PM Narendra Modi, on Thursday cleared the formation of the 8th Central Pay Commission. Announcing the date and time of the formation of the 8th Pay Commission, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that the 8th Pay Commission will be constituted 'well before' the completion of the term of the 7th Pay Commission.
"PM Narendra Modi has approved the formation of the 8th Pay Commission for the central government employees... The Seventh Pay Commission was constituted in 2016. Its term will be completed in 2026. The 8th Pay Commission will be constituted much before the end of the term of the Seventh Pay Commission so that there is enough time for the government to work on the same before the completion of the term of the Seventh Pay Commission," Vaishnaw said during an event.
The 8th Pay Commission will be headed by a chairman and two members. The formation of the 8th Pay Commission will increase the take home salary of government employees. The proposals of the commission, once accepted by the government, will increase the dearness allowances as well as pensions of retired government employees.
