Stock Market LIVE: On Monday, the BSE Sensex fell by 200.66 points to close at 81,508.46, while the Nifty 50 declined 58.80 points to 24,619.00. Pharma, auto, and banking stocks faced significant pressure, with top losers in pharma including Dr Reddy's, Divi's Laboratories, Ajanta Pharma, Cipla, and Zydus Life. In the auto sector, Balkrishna Industries, Apollo Tyres, Eicher Motors, Bajaj Auto, Hero MotoCorp, Maruti Suzuki, and M&M saw losses, while Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, IDFC First Bank, Bank of Baroda, and Kotak Bank led the decline in banking stocks.

Closing Bell: Sensex Ends Flat, Nifty Slips Slightly

The BSE Sensex closed nearly unchanged on Tuesday, gaining just 1.59 points (0.0019%) to settle at 81,510. In contrast, the NSE Nifty 50 declined by 8.95 points (0.036%), ending at 24,610. Top gainers included Bajaj Finserv (+1.65%), HCL Tech (+1.31%), and SBI (+1.09%). On the losing side, Bharti Airtel (-1.30%), Tech Mahindra (-0.90%), and Adani Ports (-0.89%) were the major drags.

The Nifty Realty index witnessed gains today

The Nifty Realty index witnessed a 1.47% gain today, led by strong performances from key players. Raymond emerged as the top gainer with an impressive rise of 11.75%, followed by Phoenix Ltd. at 3.78%. Godrej Properties Limited recorded a 2.14% increase, while Lodha saw a 1.86% uptick.

Vodafone Idea Board Approves Rs 2000 Crore Fundraise

On Monday, Vodafone Idea's board has approved issuing 175.53 crore shares on a preferential basis to Vodafone Group entities at Rs 11.28 per share. Omega Telecom Holdings will invest Rs 1,280 crore, and Usha Martin Telematics Rs 700 crore. An EGM is scheduled for January 7, 2025, to seek shareholder approval.
