TCS share price surged today as the company announced its the Quarterly results and reported a revenue of Rs 63973 crore for the quarter ending December 31, 2034. That records a growth of 5.6 per cent on a year-on-year basis and 4.5 per cent on a sequential basis. The company's net profit increased 12 per cent to Rs 12,380 crore.

The Indian stock market opened slightly higher with Sensex rising by 180.21 points, or 0.23%, to reach 77,800.42, while the Nifty gained 46.90 points, or 0.20%, settling at 23,573.40. 

The Indian rupee opened unchanged at 85.87 per dollar on Friday, compared to Thursday's closing rate of 85.86.

Godrej Properties Ltd, real estate developers, today announced that it has acquired ~24-acres of land in Indore. The development on this land will primarily comprise premium plotted residential units and will offer an estimated saleable area of ~6.20 lakh square feet. After acquiring 46 acres in July’2024 on Indore-Ujjain Road, this will be GPL’s second acquisition in Indore.

Vodafone Idea Limited has successfully raised Rs 1,909.95 crore by allotting 1.69 billion equity shares to its promoters, Omega Telecom Holdings and Usha Martin Telematics, at Rs 11.28 per share. This move bolsters the telecom giant's paid-up equity capital to over Rs 7,139 crore.

Days after announcing its exit from Adani Wilmar, Adani Commodities is all set to sell a 20 per cent stake in the company via an offer for sale (OFS) route. In an exchange filing, Adani Commodities LLP, one of the promoters of Adani Wilmar said that it will sell 13.50% shares of the company to non-retail investors on January 10 and 6.50 per cent shares to retail investors on January 13.

IT giant Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) on Thursday declared an interim dividend of Rs 10 and a special dividend of Rs 66 per equity share. 

A meeting of the Board of Directors of Reliance Industries Limited will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2025. Real household spending in Japan dropped slightly year-on-year, a smaller decline, while average real income per household rose modestly compared to the previous year. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index edged up, while mainland China’s CSI 300 hovered near the flatline. Japan’s Nikkei 225 and Topix both ended lower, as did South Korea’s Kospi and Kosdaq. Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 also slipped after giving up earlier gains.

Investors are now eagerly awaiting December’s nonfarm payrolls report, set to be released Friday morning. Meanwhile, wildfires around Los Angeles, including the devastating Palisades Fire, have fueled uncertainty. Shares of Edison International tumbled significantly during Wednesday’s session, reflecting concerns over the fire’s impact on the region.

On Thursday, the stock market witnessed a dip as the Sensex closed at 77,620.21, down 528.28 points (-0.68%), and the Nifty settled at 23,526.50, losing 162.45 points (-0.69%). On the Nifty index, the top gainers were Bajaj Auto, Nestle India, Hindustan Unilever (HUL), Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), and Britannia. Meanwhile, ONGC, Shriram Finance, BPCL, Coal India, and Tata Steel emerged as the top losers. Similarly, the Sensex gainers included Nestle India, HUL, M&M, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and ITC, while Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, L&T, NTPC, and Reliance were the key laggards.
