Gujarat to set up 48 MW capacity solar rooftop systems on goverment buildings in FY25
Solar rooftop systems of 48 MW will be installed on various government buildings in Gujarat in the current financial year for which Rs 177 crore have been allocated, the state government said on Sunday.
To tap into Gujarat's solar energy potential, the state Climate Change Department is actively installing such systems on government buildings, it said.

Italy to target 2025 GDP growth of up to 1.4%
Italy is expected to set an economic growth target for 2025 of 1.3% or 1.4% as part of its medium-term structural budget plan to be submitted to the European Commission by Sept. 20, Italian daily Il Sole 24 Ore reported on Sunday. Excluding policy changes, Rome expects growth of 1.1% next year, the newspaper added, lower than a projection of 1.2% made in April. Carlyle-backed Hexaware Tech files draft papers with Sebi for Rs 9,950 crore IPO
Private equity major Carlyle Group-backed Hexaware Technologies has filed preliminary papers with capital markets regulator Sebi for floating a Rs 9,950 crore initial public offering (IPO).
The initial share-sale of the Mumbai-headquartered company is a complete offer for sale (OFS) by promoter CA Magnum Holdings, part of Carlyle Group, according to the draft red herring prospectus (DRHP) filed on Friday.
CA Magnum Holdings has 95.03 per cent stake in the IT company.
Since the entire issue is an OFS, all the proceeds from the IPO will go directly to the selling shareholder, rather than to the company.

Dholera attracting Rs 2,000-3,000 crore investment annually in real estate, says developer
Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR) in Gujarat is attracting fresh investment of Rs 2,000-3,000 crore annually in realty assets, with investors primarily from North acquiring land and plots, according to a realty developer.
These investments reflect the increasing confidence in the project, the developer said.
The Dholera SIR project is being jointly developed by the central and Gujarat governments about 100 km from Ahmedabad, through a special purpose vehicle, DICDL ( Dholera Industrial City Development Ltd).

Weekly Market Wrap: Indian equities slide on global jitters, GST collection up

US to propose Basel rule revisions this month: Report

Byju's auditor BDO Global exits amid bankruptcy, alleges ‘lack of transparency’
Byju Raveendran-led beleaguered edtech giant Byju's has faced yet another set back with the resignation of its audior, BDO Global, after the company failed to provide the necessary documents subsequent to the beginning of bankruptcy proceedings. This is another jolt to a company already mired in governance and financial controversies.
Byju's said on Saturday that BDO Global resigned after the company refused to provide some key documents sought during the insolvency proceedings, according to a report by news agency Reuters. The edtech firm justified its stand by saying those materials had been sought from the board of the company which had been suspended owing to insolvency in progress. Byju's further contended that the requests by BDO ought to have been addressed to the insolvency professional appointed by the Supreme Court of India, who is currently managing the firm.

Reserve Bank of India fines three housing finance companies over non-compliance
The Reserve Bank of India has imposed monetary penalties on three nonbank financial players on account of non-compliance with the orders issued by the regulator. The entities against which financial penalties have been imposed are Godrej Housing Finance Limited, Aadhar Housing Finance Limited, and Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited.
The central bank, in an official statement on Friday said it has fined Godrej Housing Finance and Aadhar Housing Finance Rs 5 lakh each and HUDCO with Rs 3.5 lakh. These penalties have been issued in exercise of powers vested in the RBI under Section 52A of the National Housing Bank (NHB) Act, 1987.

The U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on Friday approved BlackRock's $12.5 billion deal for Global Infrastructure Partners. Russia announces start of sovereign Eurobonds replacement
Russia on Friday announced it was starting to replace sovereign Eurobonds with substitute bonds through an offer applying to all Eurobond holders as of the end of business hours on Sept. 12.
Russia has been paying coupons on its Eurobonds in roubles after Western sanctions made it impossible to make payments in Western currencies. The replacement bonds will be issued through Russian financial infrastructure with all related payments in roubles. Analysts have estimated the total value of sovereign substitute bonds at $20-$25 billion.

RBI continues selling bonds but quantum falls to eight-week low

Spicejet plans to raise over Rs 3,200 cr via debt, equity
Cash-strapped domestic carrier Spicejet plans to raise Rs 3,200 crore through QIP, warrants and capital infusion by the promoter, the airline said in a presentation on Friday.
The funds will be utilised in taking back the grounded fleet in operations, liability settlement, new fleet induction and other general purposes, SpiceJet in the presentations.

Manila Electric to sell $600 mln stake in solar subsidiary to Actis
Philippine power generator and distributor Manila Electric Co MER.PS is selling a 40% stake in a solar power subsidiary to global investment firm Actis for $600 million, the company said on Friday. Proceeds will be used for the joint development and expansion of the Terra Solar energy storage project, Manila Electric said in a statement. Terra Solar is one of the world's largest integrated renewables and energy storage projects, with an estimated cost of $3.5 billion. It will have 3,500 megawatts of photovoltaic capacity and battery energy storage of 4,500 megawatt hours. Actis is a global player in sustainable infrastructure and has pledged to invest $9 billion in its energy portfolio covering more than 200 projects in 35 countries.

Softer tomato, poultry prices lead to decline in home-cooked meal costs in Aug
A decline in the price of tomatoes and poultry due to the holy month of Shravan where many abstain from consuming meat helped in a reduction of home-cooked meals in August, a report said on Friday.
The cost of a vegetarian meal declined 4 per cent to Rs 31.2 in August from Rs 32.6 per plate in July, and was lower when compared with Rs 34 in August last year, as per the report by domestic rating agency Crisil. A non-veg thali price declined 3 per cent as compared to the previous month to Rs 59.3, while the same was much wider at 12 per cent when compared to the cost last year, the report said.

Silver futures rise on spot demand
Silver prices on Friday rose Rs 164 to Rs 85,120 per kilogram in futures trade as participants widened their bets on a firm spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver contracts for December delivery increased Rs 164 or 0.19 per cent to Rs 85,120 per kg in 29,379 lots.

Israel's Tower Semiconductor ties up with Adani group for $10 bln chip project in India
Israel's Tower Semiconductor and Adani Group will invest Rs 83, 947 crore ($10.01 billion) for a semiconductor project in India's western state of Maharashtra, its chief minister said in a post on X on Thursday.
Two new electric vehicle manufacturing units will also be set up in the state, with Skoda-Volkswagen investing Rs 15,000 crore while Toyota-Kirloskar will dole out Rs 21,273 crore for its plant.

The Shree Tirupati Balajee Agro Trading Company Limited IPO started off on a good note with the issue subscribed 11.02 times as on 12:30 pm, Friday, the second day of its opening. It saw retail investors leading from the front, with this portion subscribed 14.62 times. NII and QIB portions got booked 13.87 and 4.48 times, respectively.
The IPO, a book-built issue, would raise Rs 169.65 crores comprising a fresh issue of 1.48 crore shares aggregating Rs 122.43 crores and an offer for sale of 0.57 crore shares aggregating Rs 47.23 crores. The price band of the IPO has been fixed between Rs 78 and Rs 83 per share with a minimum lot size of 180 shares. Thus, retail investors would have to invest at least Rs 14,940. Similarly, larger investments are meant for HNIs, with minimum bids for sNII and bNII at Rs 209,160 and Rs 1,000,980, correspondingly.

Asian markets steady ahead of US payrolls data
Asian equities were poised to end a turbulent week on a steady note, with Thailand's stocks leading the charge on Friday, while currencies edged higher ahead of crucial US monthly payrolls data that could set the stage for outsized rate cuts.
The MSCI Emerging Markets index increased 0.4 per cent on Friday, but was on track for a weekly decline of more than 2 per cent.
Thailand's benchmark stock index gained 1.8 per cent to its highest since Jan. 5 and was on track for its strongest weekly rise since January 2021 with a near 5 per cent jump as a stabilising political environment and measures taken to boost capital flows improved risk appetite.

Baazar Style Retail gains nearly 11% after making flat market debut
Ace investor Rekha Jhunjhunwala-backed Baazar Style Retail shares made a flat stock market debut on Friday, September 6. The stock opened for trading at Rs 389, unchanged from Initial Public Offering ( IPO ) price but it came under buying interest soon after as it rose as much as 10.78 per cent from IPO price to hit an intraday high of Rs 430.95. On the National Stock Exchange, Baazar Style Retail shares rose as much as 10.83 per cent to hit an intraday high of Rs 431.15.
Baazar Style Retail sold shares in price band of Rs 370-389 per share in the IPO which opened for bidding on August 30 and closed on September 3. The company raised Rs 834.68 crore from the IPO which was a combination of fresh issue of Rs 148 crore and an offer for sale worth Rs 686.68 crore.

Vodafone Idea slips over 14% after Goldman Sachs predicts 83% downside
Shares of Vodafone Idea Ltd. fell more than 14 per cent on Friday after foreign brokerage firm Goldman Sachs predicted as steep as 83 per cent downside in the stock price. Vodafone Idea shares tumbled 14.44 per cent to hit a low of Rs 12.91 apiece on the BSE after Goldman Sachs decided to retain its 'Sell' rating on the stock and revised its target price upwards to Rs 2.5 from Rs 2.2 earlier.

Rupee inches up on hopes of weak US jobs report

10-year bond yield glued near 6.85% before debt sale, US data
