Asian Stocks Edged Higher
Asian stocks edged higher on Tuesday amid a quiet, holiday-shortened trading week, while the US dollar climbed to a near two-year high, supported by rising Treasury yields.
The subdued market activity comes in the wake of recent central bank decisions. Meeting minutes from Japan and Australia highlighted their decisions to keep interest rates steady. Meanwhile, the dollar's sustained strength continues to exert pressure on commodities and has prompted currency interventions in countries like Brazil and Indonesia as they grapple with inflationary challenges.
