BSE Also Changed Expiry Days For Derivative Contracts
In a separate announcement, the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) outlined changes to the expiry days for its derivatives contracts, effective the same date.
Weekly Sensex contracts will now expire on Tuesdays, moving from the current Friday schedule. Additionally, monthly contracts for Sensex, Bankex, and Sensex 50 will shift to the last Tuesday of the month. Presently, these contracts expire on the last Friday, last Monday, and Thursday, respectively.
Quarterly and semi-annual Sensex contracts will also now expire on the last Tuesday of the expiry month, replacing the current last Friday schedule.
The changes are being made to streamline expiry schedules and improve operational efficiency while also harnessing the high volume of derivative trade happening in Indian exchanges.
