Nifty’s unbeaten winning streak continues, bourses again hit fresh highs

The National Stock Exchange’s broader Nifty 50 index also hit a record high of 25,268.35 and ended 84.03 points or 0.33 per cent higher at 25,235.95.

Closing Bell: With new winners every day, the domestic bourses hit another record high driven by strong buying in pharma, healthcare, and realty stocks. The Bombay Stock Exchange’s 30-share Sensitive Index hit a fresh record high of 82,637.03, surging nearly 1 per cent in today’s trading session. 

On the other hand, the National Stock Exchange’s broader Nifty 50 index also hit a record high of 25,268.35 and ended 84.03 points or 0.33 per cent higher at 25,235.95 while Sensex settled at 82,365.77, up by 231.16 points or 0.28 per cent. 

Bajaj Finance ended 2.12 per cent higher to become BSE’s biggest gainer in the last trading session of the week. Bajaj Finance was trailed by Mahindra & Mahindra, NTPC, Bajaj Finserv, and Bharti Airtel as each of them gained more than 1.3 per cent. With PowerGrid, Sun Pharma, TCS, and Infosys also recording notable gains, the BSE’s lead index witnessed 21 stocks ending on a positive note. 

On the other hand, yesterday’s winner Tata Motor lost nearly 1 per cent in today’s trade along with Reliance Industries which fell 0.7 per cent despite the company’s major announcements on Thursday. ITC, Tech Mahindra, HDFC Bank, and Nestle India were among the other top stocks which ended in red.

In terms of sectoral performance, all sectoral indices at NSE excluding Nifty FMCG ended positively with Nifty Realty leading the charge with 1.83 per cent gains. Nifty Pharma, Nifty Healthcare, and Nifty Midsmall Healthcare were other indices which recorded more than a 1 per cent uptick in Friday’s trading session. 

Nifty Auto, Bank, Financial Services, FMCG, IT, Metal, PSU Bank, Private Bank, Consumer Durables, and Oil & Gas indices also ended on a positive note.
