Nifty, Sensex To Zoom 20% In 2025? Ace Investor Mark Mobius Says Sensex Can Touch 1 Lakh Mark | EXCLUSIVE
His continued confidence in this prediction highlights his belief in the strong fundamentals driving India's economic and market growth.
Mark Mobius, Chairman of the Mobius Emerging Opportunity Fund, in an exclusive interview with Republic Business offered an optimistic forecast for India's two primary stock indices, Nifty and Sensex predicting a strong performance in the near future. Mobius, renowned for his expertise in emerging markets, suggested that both indices are likely to see a 20 per cent increase from current levels, though he acknowledged the uncertainty inherent in market predictions.
“I would say that you're probably going to see about a 20 per cent increase from where we are now for both of those indices,” Mobius shared. He emphasised that while market forecasts are never guaranteed, the long-term prospects for India remain highly promising due to its growing economy, structural reforms, and rising investor confidence.
Mobius also revisited a bold prediction he made during a previous interview regarding the Bombay Stock Exchange's (BSE) Sensex index. The veteran investor had previously stated that the Sensex would reach the 1 lakh mark, a milestone that many analysts once considered distant. When asked whether he still stood by that prediction, Mobius responded: “Oh, definitely. It will happen. When is the question.”
His continued confidence in this prediction highlights his belief in the strong fundamentals driving India's economic and market growth. With sectors like technology, manufacturing, and infrastructure booming, and foreign investments flowing into the country, Mobius sees India’s stock market continuing its upward trajectory. While market conditions can be unpredictable, Mobius’ comments reflect an optimistic outlook for India, positioning the country as one of the most attractive emerging market destinations for investors. His forecast aligns with growing confidence in India’s economic potential, with many market watchers expecting significant returns in the coming years.
