Time Magazine's annual feature, 'Person of the year' is always a closely guarded secret. This year, however, this information was leaked, and the person of the year is President-elect Donald Trump . A Trump biographer leaked this secret even before Trump was bestowed with the honour.

In a note, the Times magaize said, "Trump’s political rebirth is unparalleled in American history. His first term ended in disgrace, with his attempts to overturn the 2020 election results culminating in the attack on the U.S. Capitol. He was shunned by most party officials when he announced his candidacy in late 2022 amid multiple criminal investigations. Little more than a year later, Trump cleared the Republican field, clinching one of the fastest contested presidential primaries in history."

Trump beat Vice President Kamala Harris of the Democratic Party to emerge victorious in the 2024 US presidential election. Harris had taken over from Biden in the Presidential race. Trump has broken the Democratic hold on American politics and made sure Republican flag remains high. Trump will assume office in January 2025, 

Trump rang the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange in Manhattan to mark the occasion. It was the first time the real estate mogul-turned-politician has rung the bell, according to the Associated Press. Former first lady Melania Trump appeared alongside him in Manhattan, as did daughters Tiffany and Ivanka, and Vice President-elect JD Vance, CBS reported.
