Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath has revealed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be the next guest on his podcast WTF is with Nikhil Kamath. The announcement came through a trailer shared by Kamath, which generated significant buzz on social media.

In the extended trailer, Kamath and PM Modi are seen in a candid exchange. Kamath admitted to feeling nervous during the conversation, saying, “I’m sitting here talking to you, and I feel nervous. It’s a tough conversation for me.” In response, PM Modi humorously said, “This is my first podcast, I don’t know how it will go with your audience.”

Mission over ambition

The trailer gives viewers a glimpse into the tone of the conversation, which also touches on topics such as politics, entrepreneurship, and personal reflections. Kamath shared his vision of drawing parallels between politics and entrepreneurship, while also expressing his concern about his Hindi, which the Prime Minister reassured him was not an issue.

During the discussion, Kamath asked PM Modi to offer advice to young people interested in politics. The Prime Minister said individuals should enter politics with a mission, rather than merely ambition. He also spoke about a past mistake when he made an insensitive comment as Chief Minister, acknowledging that everyone, including him, is human and prone to errors.

Politics: A dirty game?

The conversation also touched on the global political climate and the differences between Modi's first and second terms. Kamath, drawing from his own upbringing in a South Indian middle-class family, raised the question of politics being seen as a "dirty game," asking for advice for those who still hold that view.

PM Modi responded, “If you believed in what you said, we wouldn’t be having this conversation.”

While the trailer has generated considerable interest, Kamath did not announce a specific release date for the full episode.
