Vodafone Idea's total wireless subscriber base also shrank, decreasing to 21.04 crore from 21.24 crore in the previous month. Meanwhile, India's total number of active wireless subscribers for October stood at 1,066.67 million (106.6 crore), according to TRAI's data.
The overall number of broadband subscribers in India also saw a slight dip, decreasing to 941.47 million by the end of October, a 0.31 per cent monthly decline. The total number of telephone subscribers in India dropped marginally, from 1,190.66 million in September to 1,188.20 million in October, reflecting a 0.21 per cent monthly decline.
In terms of geographic trends, both urban and rural telephone subscriptions saw reductions in October, with urban subscriptions falling by 0.26 per cent and rural subscriptions declining by 0.14 per cent.
The latest data highlights the shifting dynamics within India's telecom sector, with active users becoming an increasingly crucial metric as overall subscriber growth slows.
