Wedding season: As the marriage season is around the corner, traders all over India are likely to see major economic surges. According to estimates, there are likely to be 48 lakh weddings in November-December 2024, which is expected to fetch Rs 5.9 lakh crore business, from last year's figure of 35 lakh weddings that brought in Rs 4.25 lakh crore. An increase of 7 auspicious dates for wedding ceremonies, from 11 last year to 18 this time, is likely to bring about this boom.

Delhi's Major Share

Delhi itself would account for 4.5 lakh weddings and the entire business worth Rs 1.5 lakh crore would be garnered from Delhi alone. Convenor of CAIT's Veda and Spiritual Committee, Acharya Durgesh Tare said, "The marriage season would commence on November 12, 2024, and continue up to 16th Dec.". Good Time Dates are November 12,13 and many more in both November and December.

More Indians are Buying Indian Goods

CAIT National Secretary General, Praveen Khandelwal said that customers are increasingly turning to Indian brands against foreign brands. This also falls under Prime Minister Narendra Modi 's initiatives, namely "Vocal for Local" and "Atmanirbhar Bharat" or Self-reliant India, which does not appear too daunting.

Sumit Aggarwal of CAIT pointed out that the estimates might even be understated considering the scale of anticipated economic activities. Trade is likely to sustain and gain further momentum during Christmas and New Year celebrations before another spate of marriages begins in mid-January 2025.

Brajmohan Khandelwal said the lengthened wedding season combined with festival sales will provide the Indian economy with a lift like never before as all industries ride the entire wagon and urge to raise their production to newer heights and install more sophisticated Digital Technologies.
