The Delhi-Dehradun Expressway, spanning across 210 kilometers, will revolutionize travel between Delhi and Dehradun by reducing travel time from 6.5 hours to just 2.5 hours. It is expected to be fully operational by February 2025, it promises to benefit commuters, tourists, and businesses
Delhi-Dehradun Expressway: Part of Bharatmala Pariyojana
This expressway is a key component of the Bharatmala Pariyojana, a nationwide infrastructure initiative to enhance connectivity. Starting from the Akshardham Temple in Delhi, the route passes through Baghpat, Shamli, and Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh before ending in Dehradun, Uttarakhand.

- Infrastructure: 110+ underpasses, 5 rail over bridges, 4 major bridges, and 16 entry/exit points

Route Overview Of Delhi-Dehradun Expressway
The expressway’s construction is divided into four phases:
Phase 1: Akshardham Temple (Delhi) to Baghpat (Uttar Pradesh)
Length: 32 kilometers
Status: Operational
Phase 2: Baghpat to Saharanpur
Length: 118 kilometersStatus: Under construction; some sections in use
Phase 3: Saharanpur to Ganeshpur
Length: 40 kilometers
Status: Under construction
Phase 4: Rajaji National Park to Dehradun
Length: 20 kilometers
Special Feature: Includes a 12-kilometer elevated wildlife corridor and a 340-meter tunnel
Status: Under construction
Delhi-Dehradun Expressway: Toll System and Pricing
A distance-based toll system will ensure users pay only for the distance traveled. Notably, the first 18 kilometers, from Akshardham Temple to Loni, will remain toll-free. Specific toll charges will be announced later.
