“We will vigorously defend the lawsuit,” says Infosys on Cognizant allegations

According to Cognizant, Infosys has illegally extracted data from its databases and and built its competing software solutions.

Cognizant sues Infosys: India’s Inforamtion & Technology giant Infosys has responded to the lawsuit filed by Cognizant in Texas court in United States alleging the company of stealing trade secrets related to its healthcare insurance software product. 

Reacting to the allegations, Infosys has acknowledged the information regarding the lawsuit and made it clear that the company is ready to fight the lawsuit ‘vigrously’ on the court floor. 

“Infosys is aware of the lawsuit. We deny all allegations and will defend our position in the court,” the company responded in a statement. 

The allegations are regarding Cognizant’s software TriZetto’s facets and QNXT which are used by healthcare insurance service providing companies to automate and streamline administrative tasks such as claims processing, billing, care management and network management workflow.

According to Cognizant, Infosys has illegally extracted data from its databases and and built its competing software solutions. 

As a matter of fact, the CEO of Teaneck, New Jersy based company’s CEO Ravi Kumar S is also an Infosys veteran. Kumar has served Infosys as its President and Deputy Chief Operating Officer for nine years, leaving the company in 2022. 

Both the companies compete in a high revenue market of insurance software solutions with each of them eyeing to hit the $20 billion in revenue mark.
