Dhanteras 2024: BigBasket, Blinkit, Instamart set to deliver gold, silver coins in 10 mins

Gold coin quick delivery: Online grocery platforms like Swiggy Instamart, Zomato 's Blinkit , Tata's Bigbasket, and Zepto are offering gold and silver coin delivery within 10 minutes for customers celebrating Dhanteras today, October 29.

Tata-owned BigBasket has partnered with Tanishq to offer customers gold and silver coins this festive season. Shoppers can now choose from items including a 10-gram, 999.9-purity silver coin engraved with Lakshmi and Ganesh, a one-gram 22-karat gold coin, and a one-gram 22-karat gold coin adorned with a Lakshmi motif.

BigBasket has also promised to deliver these coins within 10 minutes, aligning with similar festive offerings from quick-commerce platforms Blinkit and Swiggy Instamart, which are also promising swift delivery of gold and silver coins.

Swiggy Instamart has also promoted its quick-delivery service this Diwali season, offering items like coins, utensils, jewellery, idols, and assured rewards worth Rs 51,000 in collaboration with Jar. 

Swiggy Instamart offers a selection of Jar 24K Gold Coins in 0.1 g, 0.25 g, 0.5 g, and 1 g weights, Muthoot Exim's 1 g 24K Gold Coin, along with various silver items. It also features Malabar’s 1 g 24K Gold Coin and 999-purity Silver Coins in 5 g, 11.66 g, and 20 g weights. 

Buying gold and silver coins on quick delivery platforms

Blinkit provides options like Malabar's 1 g 24K Goddess Lakshmi Gold Coin, a 0.5 g 24K Lakshmi Rose Gold Coin, and a 10 g 99.9 per cent Pure Lakshmi Ganesh Silver Coin. Customers can also find Joyalukkas’s 10 g 99.9 per cent Pure Lakshmi Ganesh Silver Coin, and Joyalukkas’s 24K Lakshmi Ganesh Gold Coin in 0.5 g and 1 g options.

Bigbasket includes offerings from Tanishq, such as a 10 g 999.9-purity Lakshmi Ganesh Silver Coin, a 1 g 22K Gold Coin, and a 1 g 22K Gold Coin with a Lakshmi motif.

Zepto offers Augmont’s 24K Banyan Tree Gold Coin in 0.1 g, 0.5 g, and 1 g weights, along with an Augmont 10 g 24K 999-purity Silver Coin. Malabar’s collection includes a 0.5 g 24K Rose Gold Coin, a 1 g 24K Lakshmi Gold Coin, and a 10 g 999-purity Lakshmi Ganesh Silver Coin.

The rollout of these offerings coincides with Dhanteras, the first day of Diwali, which is traditionally considered auspicious for buying precious items in Indian households. 

Quick-commerce brands are also featuring dedicated pages for puja essentials to enhance convenience for festive shoppers. Blinkit, for instance, offered gold and an Akshaya Tritiya kit in May, featuring pooja items and flowers, while Swiggy Instamart collaborated with Malabar Gold & Diamonds and Muthoot Exim to provide chocolate gold coins and real gold and silver during Akshaya Tritiya.
