Ratan Tata passes away: Ratan Tata, the esteemed chairman of the Tata Group, is pursuing a groundbreaking dream: the development of cars that run on water. This ambitious vision is supported by a substantial investment of $15 million in a startup dedicated to innovative research in hydrogen fuel. Daring to dream of designing cars that can run on water is Ratan Tata, an uncontested visionary leader who has been driving the Tata Group to success.
To see this dream become a reality, he made an investment of $15 million into a startup focused on cutting-edge research in hydrogen fuel.
Prof. C.N.R. Rao, chairman of the Scientific Advisory Council to the Prime Minister, had announced this thrilling development at a press conference organised by the Chemical Research Society of India. He said a close friend of his who is a professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has devised a means of breaking water down directly into hydrogen and oxygen.
"Tata has invested this amount to potentially own the company once it is established," said Prof. Rao while elaborating the transformative nature of the technology that promises to use water resources such as rainwater, wastewater, and even seawater to produce clean energy.
"One day we will drive cars on water," Rao added, recalling a conversation he recently had with Tata. The partnership marks both men's enthusiasm for a sustainable energy future.
This falls in the backdrop of the declaration of 2011 as an "International Year of Chemistry" by the United Nations, which focused on scientific development and innovation. With Tata continuing with such path-breaking projects, the dream of water-powered vehicles might be just around the corner.
