One Thing That 'Will Surely Take Us Further…’ - Anand Mahindra's Mantra For 2025

On January 1, 2024, Anand Mahindra , Chairman of the Mahindra Group, shared a letter on X.com, sharing group’s achievements in 2024. Mahindra lauded group’s commitment to audacity, innovation, and integrity, while staying true to its core values. He also shared details about company’s focus towards sustainability, value creation for the shareholders and constantly innovating across the group businesses. 

Innovation Across Industries  

Mahindra detailed the Group’s performance across various verticals, attributing its success to bold moves and forward-thinking strategies. “Among companies in the NIFTY50 since 2002, Mahindra & Mahindra has achieved the highest compounded annual growth in share price. In 2024 alone, our share price surged by 77 per cent,” he stated.  

He shared that the Group’s progress in sustainability, noting, “For the fourth straight year, we have been included in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index’s World Index as the highest-ranked automotive OEM.”  

Mahindra also acknowledged the developments made by other businesses:  

• Mahindra Susten achieved a project pipeline of 3.3 GWp, exceeding 60 per cent of its capacity goals.  
• Mahindra Lifespace scaled rapidly, delivering high-quality sustainable projects.  
• Last Mile Mobility retained its leadership in the three-wheeler electrification market.  
• Mahindra Finance expanded its loan book to over Rs 1.1 lakh crore.  
• The tractor Business continued to dominate India’s market, despite fierce competition.  

On group’s core auto division’s success, Mahindra said, “Our premium electric vehicles electrified the Indian market, receiving an overwhelmingly positive response that surpassed even our expectations. It takes audacity and innovation to bring cutting-edge technology and bold styling into the market, and I’m thrilled to see it resonating with our customers.”  

Audacity Will Take Us Further: Anand Mahindra  

Mahindra stressed the importance of integrity as a cornerstone of the Mahindra ethos. “Audacity has brought us far and will surely take us further. But our success is not measured solely in terms of financial growth. Integrity is what has driven us since 1945, and it remains our foundation today,” he wrote in the letter.  

Looking ahead, Mahindra expressed his confidence in India’s growing importance on the global stage. “India is no longer the 99-pound lightweight on the beach. With political stability, military might, and economic potential, we are well-positioned to become a keystone in the global supply chain system,” wrote the Mahindra & Mahindra Chairman.

Concluding his letter he wrote, “We have long believed that we can rise to take charge of our destiny. I wish you and your families the ability to manifest your aspirations and create a better world in 2025 and beyond.”
