India Inc' highest paid executive N Chandrasekaran's salary rises 20% to Rs 135 crore in FY24

Chandrasekaran's salary included Rs 13.26 crore as gross salary and Rs 121.50 crore in commission which will be paid after the company's annual general meeting.

As per the annual report published by Tata Sons Private Limited, N Chandrasekaran, Executive Chairman of the company drew Rs 135.32 crore in annual remuneration making him the highest paid executive of corporate India. His pay package rose 20 per cent annually from Rs 113 crore in financial year 2023.

Chandrasekaran's salary included Rs 13.26 crore as gross salary and Rs 121.50 crore in commission which will be paid after the company's annual general meeting.

Tata Sons executive director Saurabh Agarwal took home Rs 30.35 crore in annual salary which included Rs 6.07 crore as gross salary, Rs 24 crore in commission and Rs 28 lakh in provident fund and superannuation benefits.

The company's Chief Financial Officer Eruch N Kapadia took annual salary package of 3.08 crore which included Rs 1.72 crore in gross salary and Rs 1.36 crore in provident fund and superannuation benefits.

Tata Sons net profit in financial year 2024 rose 54 per cent to Rs 34,654 crore as against Rs 22,132 crore in the previous financial year.

Its revenue from operations rose 25 per cent to Rs 43,893 crore from Rs 35,058 crore.

In a notable development, Tata Sons said that Air India recorded highest annual revenue in FY24.

"Air India has recorded its highest consolidated annual operating revenues of Rs 51,365 crore (up 24.5 per cent over previous year) driven by growth in capacity to 105,059 million ASKM (Available Seat Kilometres) (up 21 per cent over previous year) and improvement in passenger load factor to 85 per cent (previous year 82 per cent). 40.45 million passengers were carried during the year, by Air India group, by operating about 800 daily flights to 55 domestic and 44 international destinations," Tata Sons said in its annual report.
