‘Completely False…’ Jeff Bezos Denies Reports Of $600 Mn Wedding in Colorado

Jeff Bezos has dismissed reports suggesting he and his fiancée, Lauren Sánchez, are planning a $600 million wedding in Aspen, Colorado, next weekend. On Sunday, Bezos took to X (formerly Twitter) to categorically deny the allegations. He stated, "This whole thing is completely false — none of this is happening."  

Bezos also cautioned his followers about the dangers of misinformation, saying, “Be careful out there” and “don’t be gullible,” while highlighting how quickly lies can spread.

Lauren Sánchez’s Rebuttal

Sánchez echoed Bezos’ sentiments by sharing his post on her Instagram stories, where she added her own clarification: "Not true."  

Elon Musk Reacts to the Denial

Tech billionaire Elon Musk also responded to Bezos’ post, expressing a tongue-in-cheek wish for the alleged wedding to happen. “It’s nice to know that epic events are happening somewhere in the world, even if one is not present,” Musk wrote.  

Initial Reports Claim Extravagant Winter Wonderland Theme

The rumours, first reported by the Daily Mail and the New York Post, claimed the couple were planning a winter wonderland-themed celebration. It was alleged that the exclusive venue would be Matsuhisa, a luxury sushi restaurant in Aspen, reserved from December 26 to 27 for about 180 guests.  

According to these reports, the guest list included prominent figures like Bill Gates, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Queen Rania of Jordan.

Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez began dating in 2018. The couple made their relationship public on July 14, 2019, following Bezos’ divorce from his first wife, MacKenzie Scott, which was finalised earlier that year.  

Despite the media buzz, both Bezos and Sánchez have firmly denied the existence of any such wedding plans.
