Flipkart to add 1,00,000 jobs for big billion days 2024
New employees will be hired for the various positions within the different supply chain fields such as inventory and warehousing.
Flipkart to add jobs: India’s leading e-commerce firm, Flipkart has announced intentions to open up 1,00,000 fresh vacancies in the country for the upcoming The Big Billion Days (TBBD) 2024 event. This broad strategy was unleased by the company on Wednesday.
As part of preparations for TBBD 2024, Flipkart opens eleven new fulfilment centres (FCs) in nine cities bringing the total FCs to eighty-three across the country. This is widely believed to bring a positive change in the company's operational capacity and in addressing the growing demand from its clients.
“Socio economic development is well at the heart of Flipkart,” the company said in its response. “Our desire is to generate more than 1,00,000 employment openings within different segments of our supply chain throughout this festive season because apart from enhancing our functioning, we want to boost the economies of the regions we operate in.”
These will be new positions of supply chain management that will transverse functional areas of inventory management, warehousing, logistics and delivery services. These positions are a part of Flipkart’s large organisation network and help in maintaining seamless delivery and operations during the festive season.
The new roles being created at Flipkart will largely be contractual and occasional, but the company understands the need to train and upgrade its new talents thoroughly. This effort helps in the training of the employees in an organisation so that those that are employed on a temporary basis are effective in the organization.
It is also important for Flipkart to swim in the right direction of its commitment by aggressively pursuing to employ more women, the disabled, and the LGBTQAI+ community. This focus is due to the company’s goal of increasing diversification of the workforce and creating a multicultural company.
Further, to revamp its supply chain Flipkart is set on using better technology fixtures to streamline its supply chain process and inventory to improve product access during the festival season.
