Top three scooters with highest retail sales in July 2024

Scooter sales in July: The scooter segment is widely used by customers in India for their daily commutes and is an affordable alternative to motorcycles. The scooters offer comfortable seating, decent storage space, and deliver great fuel efficiency. This segment mainly has the Honda Activa as the prime market shareholder, having competition with the TVS Jupiter, and Suzuki Access. These scooters are either equipped with a 110cc or a 125cc petrol engine, having decent performance and fuel efficiency. Let us have a look at the top three scooters that recorded the highest retail sales in July 2024.

Honda Activa

Honda Activa secured the first position on the list. The Activa has been on offer for more than a decade and is offered in two powertrain options, a 110cc, and a 125cc engine. Honda Activa registered total retail sales of 1,95,604 units in July. This has resulted in    a decent growth of 44.54 per cent on a year-on-year basis and a decline of 16.19 per cent on a month-on-month basis.

TVS Jupiter

TVS Jupiter is a strong contender to the Honda Activa, thus securing second position on the list. TVS Motor Company has recently updated the Jupiter with a new design and updated features on the scooter. The Jupiter recorded total sales of 74,663, having a decent gap from Activa. TVS Jupiter registered 12.28 per cent growth in sales on a year-on-year basis and a marginal 3.55 per cent growth on a month-on-month basis.

Suzuki Access

The Suzuki Access managed to secure the third position on the list. The Suzuki Access is a 125cc scooter offering a lightweight chassis and decent fuel efficiency. It trailed behind the Jupiter by a marginal gap. Suzuki Access recorded 71,247 units, registering a 37.87 per cent growth on a year-on-year basis and a 36.51 per cent growth on a month-on-month basis as well. Suzuki Access has shown a decent growth in sales in July 2024.
