Top three motorcycles with highest retail sales in July 2024

The motorcycle segment recorded a surge in sales in July 2024. Hero Splendor maintained its lead position, followed by Honda Shine and Bajaj Pulsar.

Motorcycle sales in July: The two-wheeler segment in India recorded a surge in retail sales in July 2024. The electric mobility segment and the Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) segment have seen a rise in sales. Despite recording overall growth, the performance of individual models varied, with some experiencing significant gains and others facing declines. Hero MotoCorp’s Splendor maintained the lead position, followed by Honda Motorcycles & Scooters India’s Shine, trailing behind the Bajaj Auto’s Pulsar. Let us have a look at the growth or decline in sales recorded by the top three motorcycles in July 2024.

Hero Splendor

Hero Splendor is a 100cc motorcycle, which has high demand both in urban and rural markets. The Splendor provides high fuel efficiency and has a low cost of ownership. In July, Splendor recorded total sales of 2,20,820 units, registering a marginal decline of 3.51 per cent on a year-on-year basis and a 27.74 per cent decline on a month-on-month basis. Despite recording a decline, Splendor managed to be in the first position on the list.

Honda Shine

Honda Shine managed to secure the second position in the list. Honda Shine is offered with a 125cc engine which offers great fuel efficiency in its segment. The Shine recorded retail sales of 1,63,402 units, registering a 17.06 per cent growth on a month-on-month basis and a 58.53 per cent growth on a year-on-year basis.

Bajaj Pulsar

The third position in the list is secured by Bajaj Auto’s sports bike Pulsar. Pulsar has been a top choice among youth and is offered a wide array of engine options. Pulsar recorded total retail sales of 95,789 units in July, registering an 8.9 per cent growth on a year-on-year basis and a decline of 13.78 per cent on a month-on-month basis. Bajaj has recently introduced Pulsar NS 400Z in the market, with a punchy engine and decent features on offer.
