Tata Curvv launched at Rs 9.99 lakh in India, to rival Citroen Basalt
Tata Motors has launched its first coupe-SUV in India, the Curvv at Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It rivals the Citroen Basalt and comes with three engine options
Tata Curvv in India: Tata Motors has launched the Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) version of the coupe-SUV Curvv in India at an introductory price of Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for petrol and Rs 11.49 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base diesel variant. Tata Curvv offers plenty of features, sporty styling, and great road presence. It has three-engine options, two petrol, and a diesel engine with multiple gearbox options. Curvv is offered with eight variants and six colour options. In its segment, it rivals the Citroen Basalt. It shares its design with the other existing models and the electric version, Curvv.EV was launched earlier at Rs 17.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
Tata Curvv price and competition:
Tata has launched the Curvv at an introductory price of Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base petrol variant and Rs 11.49 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base diesel variant in India. It is the first coupe-SUV from Tata Motors and is offered in eight variants and mainly rivals the Citroen Basalt in its segment.
Tata Curvv design:
The design of the Tata Curvv is sporty and has great aesthetics. The front design of the Curvv is similar to that of the Nexon, and it has multiple similarities. The raised bonnet, projector headlamps, and connected LED DRLs enhance the overall appeal.
On the side, the Curvv is equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels in the top variant, and the base model has 16-inch wheels. The flush door handles offered on the Curvv enhance the aerodynamics and have a light indication for locating the door handle at night. The sloping roofline gives it a coupe-SUV characteristic.
At the rear, it shares its similarities with the Curvv EV. It has connected LED DRL taillamps, along with reverse parking sensors and great boot space.
Tata Curvv interiors and features:
The interiors of the Tata Curvv are very similar to other Tata models. The interiors of the Curvv are equipped with leather upholstery, with a dual-tone finish. It has a four-spoke steering wheel, with large 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, front ventilated seats, driving modes, ambient light, and a massive panoramic sunroof.
The seats of the Curvv are comfortable and offer great cushioning. On long trips, passengers will not feel tired. To enhance the comfort of the rear seat passengers, the rear seats have a recline function as well.
Tata Curvv engine performance:
Tata Motors has offered a new turbo petrol engine on the Curvv. The Curvv has three engine options, two petrol and a diesel engine with a manual and an automatic transmission option. The first engine, a 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine, that produces 118 BHP and 170 Nm torque, mated to a six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. This engine is available in the lower trims on the Curvv.
The next engine is also a turbo petrol engine, but Curvv is the first SUV to offer this engine. It is also a 1.2-litre inline three-cylinder turbo petrol engine, which produces 123 BHP and 225 Nm torque, mated to a six-speed manual and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. This engine is available only top three variants of the Curvv.
The third engine is the regular diesel engine that is offered on the Nexon as well. This diesel engine is a 1.5-litre inline four-cylinder engine, that produces 115 BHP and 260 Nm torque, mated to the same six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
