Skoda Auto India Price Hike: Which Models Got Costlier?

Skoda Auto India on Tuesday announced a price hike of up to 3 per cent across its range of cars, effective January 1 2025.

Need For Price Hike

This adjustment is necessitated by rising input and operational costs, ensuring the company continues to deliver premium vehicles and services to its customers, Skoda Auto India said in a statement.

The company is a subsidiary of European carmaker Skoda Auto. The price increase will apply to the company's entire portfolio, including the Kushaq, Slavia, Superb, and Kodiaq.

"The recently launched Kylaq will remain unaffected by this adjustment until it reaches the milestone of 33,333 bookings, which are fast-filling," the company said. 

Å koda Auto has officially launched series production of its new Å koda Kylaq at the Pune manufacturing plant. The SUV celebrated its world premiere in early November in Mumbai, with the first deliveries to local customers scheduled for January 2025, the company said.

Skoda Kylaq Price Unaffected

According to a statement from the company, the prices of the Skoda Kylaq will remain unaffected by this adjustment. The company further stated that it will remain unchanged until it reaches 33,333 bookings.

The price of the Skoda Kylaq starts at Rs 7.98 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base variant. The company offers it in four variants.

The design of the Skoda Kylaq is similar to its elder sibling Kushaq. It comes with sporty exteriors and runs on 16-inch alloy wheels. When talking about boot space, the company claims it has the most enormous boot in its segment.

Skoda Kylaq Features

The feature list on the Skoda Kylaq consists of a sunroof, a digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, and more. However, it also offers front-ventilated seats, an 11.2-inch instrument cluster, and six airbags.

Skoda Kylaq Engine Specifications

The Skoda Kylaq is powered by a 1.0L inline three-cylinder TSI petrol engine, which produces 115 BHP and 170 Nm torque, mated to a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic torque converter gearbox.

Recent Price Hike by Other Automakers

Stellantis owner Jeep and Citroen also announced a price hike for their models. The company announced a price revision of 3 per cent from January 2025. Other automakers like Maruti Suzuki , Tata Motors , and Kia India also announced the price revision of their models in January 2025.
