MG Comet EV available for Rs 5 Lakh and ZS EV available for Rs 14 Lakh with battery rental

New battery rental for EVs: JSW MG Motors India first introduced their battery-as-a-service program in the Windsor EV. The company has now added this initiative to its other two EV models as well, which are the Comet EV and ZS EV in India. This initiative led by MG Motors India helps customers purchase vehicles at a lower upfront cost and pay for battery usage based on the kilometres driven.

Satinder Singh Bajwa, Chief Commercial Officer, JSW MG Motor India, said, “With BaaS, we have created a platform for easy ownership, making our EVs more accessible than ever. Given the strong response to Windsor under the BaaS program, we are now extending its benefits to our popular EV models, the Comet and ZS. I am confident that this unique ownership model will further boost EV adoption in the country.”

MG Comet EV now at Rs 5 lakh:

The MG Comet EV is now available for Rs 4.99 lakh along with a rental cost of Rs 2.5 per kilometre for the battery. The Battery-as-a-Service (B-a-a-S) initiative from MG Motors offers services such as a pay-per-kilometre, 60 per cent assured buyback value after three years, and also offers a lower acquisition cost of an EV. The MG Comet EV is powered by a 17.3 kWh battery pack and has a claimed range of 230 km and a fast charging option as well.

MG ZS EV now at Rs 13.99 lakh:

The MG ZS EV is now available for Rs 13.99 along with a rental cost of Rs 4.5 per kilometre for the battery. The ZS EV mainly rivals the Mahindra XUV 400 EV and the Tata Nexon EV. The ZS EV is powered by a 50.3 kWh battery pack and has a claimed range of 461 km. It comes with safety features such as Level-2 ADAS, six airbags, etc.
