Mercedes Benz E-Class launched at Rs 78.50 lakh in India: rivals BMW 5 Series

Mercedes-Benz launched the E-Class facelift at Rs 78.50 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. It is offered in two variants and three engine options.

E-Class facelift launched: Mercedes-Benz launched the E-Class facelift at Rs 78.50 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. Since it is the facelift version of E-Class it gets updated exteriors, interiors are revised, and a powerful engine. The E-Class LWB rivals the BMW 5 Series LWB in India. The company offers this sedan in two variants and three engine options. Additionally, it offers features such as all four electrically adjustable seats, two wireless chargers, a 56-inch hyperscreen, and multiple driving modes to name a few.

Let us look at the details of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class facelift:

Price and variants:

The new E-Class is launched for Rs 78.5 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. The company offers it in three variants. The entry-level E 200 starts at Rs 78.50 lakh (ex-showroom) in India.  It costs Rs 81.5 lakh (ex-showroom) for the E 220 d and Rs 92.50 lakh (ex-showroom) for the E 450 trim. The new E-Class is offered in two variants, the Avantgarde Line for the E 200 and E 220d variants and the AMG Line E 450 4MATIC.

Exterior updates:

The new E-Class comes with an updated exterior design. It has a new grill, and a new design for LED headlamps with LED DRLs, which connects the grill. From the side, it has new flush door handles and runs on 18-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, the new E-Class has star motifs in the LED tail lamps, and the rear bumper is redesigned.

Interior updates:

The company has made changes to the interiors of the new E-Class. Now the cabin offers a more luxurious appeal and has plenty of space inside. It has an electric adjustment for the rear seats, which enhances the experience.

Feature list:

With the new E-Class, the company updated the feature list as well. Now, it offers a new 56-inch hyperscreen which is also available on other electric models by the company, having wireless connectivity for the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, two wireless chargers, and more. In addition to this, it also features voice-assisted sunblinds and a Burmester 4D sound system.

Engine specifications:

The E-Class facelift is now offered with three-engine options. It comes with a 2.0-litre inline four-cylinder turbo petrol engine, producing 201 BHP and 320 Nm torque, combined with a nine-speed torque converter gearbox. It has a 2.0-litre diesel engine as well, producing 197 BHP and 440 Nm torque, combined with a nine-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox. The third engine on offer is the 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder turbo petrol engine, producing 381BHP and 500 Nm torque, paired with a mild hybrid system. It provides an additional boost of 22 hp and 205 Nm.
