Maruti Suzuki cuts prices for Alto K10 and S-Presso on selected variants
Maruti Suzuki in a regulatory filing announced a price slash on its entry-level models on selected variants, Alto K10's VXI variant and S-Presso's LXI variant.
Price cut by Maruti Suzuki: Maruti Suzuki, India’s leading auto manufacturer has updated the prices of its entry-level hatchbacks, Alto K10 and S-Presso with immediate effect. The updated price of the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso LXI Petrol variant has been reduced by Rs 2,000 and the price of the Alto K10 VXI Petrol variant has been reduced by Rs 6,500. The auto manufacturer announced the updated prices of the Alto K10 and S-Presso in a regulatory filing.
Alto K10 price:
The Maruti Suzuki Alto has been a popular entry-level hatchback in India. The Alto K10 has a starting price of Rs 3.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base variant and goes to Rs 5.96 lakh (ex-showroom). The Alto K10 is offered with a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated inline three-cylinder petrol engine that produces 72 BHP and 91 Nm torque, mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. The Alto K10 is a compact family hatchback with decent space and a feature list on offer.
S-Presso price:
The S-Presso sits between the Alto K10 and Wagon R. The price revision on the S-Presso is done on the LXI variant, which is a lower or the base variant of the lineup. S-Presso has a price of Rs 4.26 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base variant and Rs 6.11 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top variant. It is also powered with the same 1.0-litre three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, that churns out 71 BHP and 95 Nm torque, mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.
In August, the sales of Maruti Suzuki's mini segment cars, which comprises Alto and S-Presso, registered a decline of 14.66 per cent on a year-on-year basis. The combined sales of Alto K10 and S-Presso stood at 10,648 units last month, falling short of 1,561 units, as compared to 12,209 units a year ago.
