Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 and S-Presso get updated with ESP, standard on all trims
Maruti Suzuki updated the Alto K10 and the S-Presso with the Electronic Stability Program as an additional safety feature without any increment in the prices.
Safety features updated: Maruti Suzuki India Limited is one of India’s leading auto manufacturers in the passenger vehicle segment. The auto manufacturer is known for its mass-market cars, having an entry-level product portfolio from Alto K10 and S-Presso.
The auto manufacturer has updated the Alto K10 and the S-Presso variants with the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) as an additional safety feature without any increment in the ex-showroom prices of these models. Recently, Maruti Suzuki introduced the Swift with a facelift, enhancing the exteriors, and interiors and making six-airbags a standard fitment across its variant lineup.
The standard safety features offered by the Maruti Suzuki consist of dual-front airbags an anti-locking Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD), reverse parking sensors, an engine immobiliser, seat belt reminders, and more.
Mr Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, "The addition of Electronic Stability Program Plus as a standard feature on Maruti Suzuki product portfolio aligns with our endeavour to democratise advanced features and it significantly increases the value proposition of our vehicles."
How does the Electronic Stability Program work?
The Electronic Stability Program system balances a vehicle's skidding movements, ensuring it remains in line with its natural path of motion, especially when the vehicle loses traction. The ESP integrates the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Traction Control System (TCS), and Stability Control (SC), and operates a range of sensors to measure the vehicle's movement. This data utilised by the sensors is then processed by an electronic control unit (ECU) to calculate and adjust the vehicle's motion by influencing the braking input and engine power to enhance stability and control over the vehicle.
Alto K10 and the S-Presso specifications:
The Alto K10 and the S-Presso are offered with the same 1.0-litre inline three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, that churns out 68 BHP and 91 Nm torque, mated to a five-speed manual or an AMT transmission option.
