Power loss issue in SUVs:- Due to reported incidents of loss of motive power, The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced that it has initiated an investigation into 94,275 Jeep SUVs. Jeep is a subsidiary of the Stellantis group, known for their SUVs like Grand Cherokee, Wrangler, etc.

The main focus of this investigation is on Jeep's Wrangler 4xe hybrid SUVs which are manufactured between 2021 and 2024. Chrysler also made a recallin 2022 for the concerns over engine shutdown in the same vehicle model. This recall follows the same action.

A recall query of this type is made when safety regulators suspect that previous improvement actions may not have adequately addressed the identified issue.

According to the NHTSA, it contains the recent complaints about the instances of power loss both in vehicles that underwent the previous recall remedy and in those that were not included in the initial recall campaign.

Stellantis, the parent company of Jeep, has yet to comment on this investigation. They have not released any statement yet. The NHTSA's inquiry emphasises ongoing efforts by regulatory bodies to ensure the safety and reliability of vehicles on US roads, particularly on the concerns of potential defects that could lead to a compromise on vehicle performance and the safety of the driver.

The outcome of this investigation could even lead to additional recalls or modifications that are aimed at addressing the reported issues. The affected owners of Jeep Wrangler 4xe hybrid SUVs are advised to stay informed through official communications from the manufacturer and the NHTSA regarding any developments or actions required.

The industry analysts are monitoring the situation as it is focused on how Stellantis and regulatory authorities will collaborate to resolve the identified safety concerns and the risks associated with the affected vehicles.
