Hyundai Motor India, on Friday, launched the Hyundai Creta Electric SUV at the Bharat Global Mobility Show 2025. Speaking at the launch of the model, the South Korean carmaker said that it is committed to building a robust EV ecosystem in India by localising the EV supply chain.

“Our commitment to innovation is reflected in every feature of the Creta Electric. With advanced tech, world-class safety, and thrilling performance, India is ready for the future, and the future is Hyundai Creta Electric," said Tarun Garg, Whole-Time Director and COO of Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL).

Hyundai Creta Electric Launch At Bharat Global Mobility Show 2025

The company's India plans include battery packs, cell manufacturing in partnership with Exide Energy Solutions (EESL), drivetrains, and other key components, alongside expanding the charging infrastructure.

Available at a starting price of Rs 17.99 lakh (Ex-Showroom), the electric Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) is incidentally the company’s first product offering post its stock market debut. 

Bookings are already open for a token amount of Rs 25,000. The new Creta Electric will directly compete with the MG ZS EV, Mahindra XUV 400, Tata Curvv EV and also the recently launched Mahindra BE 6.

Hyundai Creta Electric: Range, Batter Options

The Creta Electric offers two battery pack options: a 42kWh battery paired with a 99kW motor, delivering a range of 390km, and a 51.4kWh battery paired with a 126kW motor, offering an impressive 473km range. The company revealed that the Creta EV comes with localised battery packs. Meanwhile, Hyundai has lined up three more EVs after the Creta EV.
