Gautam Singhania criticises Lamborghini India for ‘arrogance’ for ignoring customer issues
A well-known figure in India’s luxury car scene, the 59-year-old billionaire is no stranger to exclusive vehicles.
Singhania on Lamborghini: On Sunday, Raymond chairperson and managing director Gautam Singhania criticised Lamborghini’s India and Asia heads for failing to address issues he raised after a test drive of a Lamborghini Revuelto ended abruptly with the vehicle breaking down in the middle of a Mumbai road on October 3.
“I am shocked at the arrogance of India head Sharad Agarwal and Asia head Francesco Scardaoni. Not one has reached out to even check what the customer issues are,” Singhania posted on LinkedIn. He also claimed to have encountered multiple issues with the vehicle within just 15 days of delivery.
A well-known figure in India’s luxury car scene, the 59-year-old billionaire is no stranger to exclusive vehicles. His private collection includes high-end models like the Ferrari 458, Audi Q7, LP570 Superleggera, Nissan Skyline GT-R, and Lamborghini Gallardo. He even travelled to France personally to drive a Formula One car.
Singhania’s post sparked reactions on social media, where many users voiced disappointment in Lamborghini’s lack of customer response.
“This is disappointing from a luxury brand that should prioritise customer care, especially as India emerges as a critical growth market for luxury cars,” commented Sanjeev Mulchandani, executive vice president and business head at Associated Broadcasting Co Pvt Ltd. “With more Indian customers investing in luxury vehicles, brands need to build genuine relationships, not just push sales. Hopefully, Lamborghini recognises this misstep and commits to a more respectful, personalised approach for its Indian customers.”
