Bharat NCAP stickers: The BNCAP has come up with a new initiative to promote the safety of the vehicles, which are the ‘labels’ that a manufacturer can opt for. These stickers will showcase the car’s crash test safety rating along with other safety information if the car has been crash-tested by BNCAP.
Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (BNCAP) has been recently commissioned and has tested four Tata Motors cars till now. The safety of the vehicles has been a concern and the concept has existed for a long time, but took a change of course in recent years. Nowadays, customers are more aware of the active and passive safety features that are provided by the manufacturers in their models. To test the safety rating of the vehicles, institutions like Bharat NCAP and Global NCAP test them for various crash scenarios.
To enhance the customer’s buying experience and make the right choice, Bharat NCAP has decided to issue labels to all the cars that are tested under this programme, which will signify the crash test results of the car.
The issued sticker will consist of a unique code. Scanning the unique QR code with a smartphone will redirect the owner to the Bharat NCAP page, presenting them with comprehensive details regarding the crash test procedure.
How will these stickers issued by BNCAP help?
For starters, the auto manufacturers who got their vehicles tested by Bharat NCAP, have to opt to get these labels. If in case, the auto manufacturer does not opt to get these labels, the safety ratings will be presented on the internet portals and websites along with Bharat NCAP’s official website.
Which cars have been crash-tested by Bharat NCAP?
To date, Bharat NCAP has only crash-tested four cars and the results are available on the Bharat NCAP website. Bharat NCAP has crash-tested four Tata Motors vehicles, which are the Punch.EV, Nexon.EV, Safari, and the Harrier. All these SUVs have scored five-star ratings in the crash test, both for adult and child occupants.
